This 38th-floor apartment offers a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline from each room. Our task was to create a cozy home for a young couple having in mind the dynamic and vibrant feel of the city as opposed to a sophisticated and refined sense of calm in the interior. The unique synergy between these opposing elements was established by combining a rich pallet of materials ranging from macassar ebony, stainless steel and mirrors to soft velvet fabrics and comfy cushions and sofas. Seemingly unrelated elements are used to achieve a sense of calm and balance, a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city life.
